Software I use, hardware I love, and other things I recommend

Nobody asked, but here are the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I'm being productive when I'm really just procrastinating. Here's a big list of all of my favorite stuff

Development tools

  • Arch Linux

"Yeah, I use Arch Linux btw."

  • Neovim

My text editor and IDE for basically everything (even for what I'm using to right this right now!) It's definitely not for everyone, but its a no brainer if you hate switching between your mouse and keyboard while pro gramming or regular writing

  • Visual Studio

Whenever I have to do any C# development, I use Visual Studio on Windows with a different computer, because my Pavilion is way to weak for it unfortunately

  • Kitty Terminal

All I need out of a terminal and more. Perfect for me

  • Firefox

This is what I've liked since I was litte, so why not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Editing

  • Photopea

Whenever I need to create a quick sketch of something and don't have access to Photoshop

  • Photoshop CC 2022

On the very rare occasion that I actually need to design something

  • Vegas Pro 18

My go to video editing software. I've been using Vegas Pro products for about 5 years at this point, and its almost never let me down

Software

  • Hyprland

    A Wayland tiling window manager

  • mpd and ncmpcpp

MPD (Music Player Daemon) and ncmpcpp are the best choices for music for me, since I can't have an app like Spotify running with a browser at the same time without using a big portion of my swapfile

  • ElectronMail

An ok, I guess, free option for desktop mail with ProtonMail

Productivity

  • Google Calendar

Basically my only productivity tool, since more than anything I just need to be aware of events I need to prepare for
